Community Guidelines
The rules every member agrees to when they apply. They keep the community useful for people who work in search.
-
Professional behaviour
Treat other members as colleagues. Critique the work, not the person.
-
Respect disagreement
SEO is full of contested ground. Disagree with evidence and without contempt.
-
Evidence where possible
Show your data, method and limitations. Say when something is opinion or anecdote.
-
Declare affiliations
Disclose when you discuss a client’s site, your own company, an affiliate tool, a sponsored product or any commercial relationship.
-
No spam or link schemes
No mass self-promotion, no link exchanges, no selling backlinks, no PBN offers and no paid guest-post marketplaces.
-
No copied content
Contribute your own work. Quote and attribute sources properly.
-
No harassment
Harassment, discrimination and personal attacks lead to removal.
-
No confidential client information
Anonymise where needed and never share data you do not have permission to publish.
-
No fabricated case studies or fake results
Invented outcomes damage everyone’s credibility. Moderators remove them and may suspend the account.
Self-promotion policy
You may mention your company, services, tools and projects when they add context. Posts whose main purpose is promotion are held for review. Useful links in useful posts are fine. Member links carry rel="nofollow ugc" by default.
Moderation
Any member can report content. Moderators may hide or remove content, close discussions and suspend accounts. Actions are logged. Decisions can be appealed through the contact page.
